Teacher Training Activities on the BREAKS Training Package

In March 2026, the University of Patras, in collaboration with the Directorate of Primary Education of Achaia (DPEA) (https://dipe.ach.sch.gr ), the Department of Cultural Affairs of DPEA, and the Laboratory of Pedagogical Research and Lifelong Education (https://epee.upatras.gr/en/) of the University of Patras, successfully organised a teacher training workshop as part of the BREAKS project. The event brought together teachers from different educational levels and subject areas who were interested in promoting physical activity and active learning in schools.

The training aimed to introduce participants to the BREAKS Training Package and its implementation in everyday classroom practice. During the training, teachers became familiar with the package’s thematic modules and the methodology underpinning its use. The programme combined theoretical input with interactive, experiential activities, enabling participants to experience the proposed activities from a learner’s perspective.

A key component of the training was the practical application of the BREAKS approach. Working collaboratively, teachers designed their own movement breaks, adapting the project’s educational resources to the needs of their students and different educational contexts. This hands-on approach encouraged creativity, collaboration and the exchange of ideas among participants.

The training received very positive feedback, with participants highlighting the practical value of the Training Package and its potential to support students’ overall development and engagement during the school day. The workshop also contributed to raising awareness of the BREAKS project within the educational community and strengthening collaboration with local educational authorities.

We would like to thank all participating teachers for their active engagement and valuable contribution to the successful dissemination of the BREAKS project.
